Do you have an iPhone and travel a lot?

Posted by Mike Charlie

If your answer is yes to both questions, then check out this app: Worldmate

With it you can easily keep track of all your flight itineraries, whether you're on vacation or travelling in business. It's so easy. Just create a Worldmate account and as soon as you have your travel itinerary sent to you either by your travel agency or the airline just forward it to trips@worldmate.com. As soon as you start Worldmate, you're minutes away of having your complete travel itinerary on your iPhone. You'll then be reminded of your flight times, terminal, airport address (through Google maps). It'll even show you your hotel address and booking reference, all in one place, so you can stop worrying of having to print all those e-mails, from the airline, travel agency, etc.
But that's not all: you also get weather forecasts, flight alternatives, hotel search, currency converter and a handy tip calculator.
As soon as you get to your destination, you'll be asked to switch over to your new base and the time will be adjusted accordingly.
All this comes for free... it's great! (if you don't mind the occasional adds!)
If you want additional features like automatic flight delay alerts, flight status, gate info, no adds, etc. then you have to go for the Gold version which is € 7,99 or $ 9,99
I've tried some other travel apps for the iPhone but this one ranks high on my list.
This app is also available for other handheld devices such as blackberries or windows mobile devices.

Sounds nice, thanks for the tip. Aren't there any privacy issues? The functionalities sound great but I'm just a bit worried of sending my travel itinerary (incl. booking references) somewhere to the internet. Cheers
